I fell into the habit of grabbing a sock to clean my glasses. I wasn’t a fan of the typical square-cut microfiber cloths, always believing the sock did a better job. But why? Was it the material of the sock? Was it technique? What was the secret?
I eventually realized it wasn’t the sock itself that made it superior to the square-cut microfiber cloths. It was the fact that the sock completely covers your fingers, preventing greasy fingerprints from sliding onto lenses which happens during every use of a traditional microfiber cleaning cloth.
